the fish!
In Matthew 17:27 we read of God's provisions as Jesus instructed Peter to catch a fish and in it he would find a coin to pay the taxes that were due. As a reminder of God's faithfulness and this story, during the offertory the children (adults too!) put coins into the mouth of the fish. (See photo above.) We use these gifts to support ministries in Mozambique, Strong Tower Haiti Orphanage, ministries to children within our community, as well as two missionaries who have ties to First Church. Children of all ages are welcome to "feed the fish" during the song of worship that is sung by the worship team.
*At the Celebration Center, we do not pass an offering basket during worship. However, we offer many ways for you to partner financially with First Church as we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
