At First Church It’s No Secret, We Love Kids! We have Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday at the Celebration Center. On "WOW" Wednesdays there are children’s choirs at 5:45 p.m. and Children’s ministry begins after dinner at 6:15 p.m. Our kids have a mascot named Beamer. He is a 6’ Irish Setter who has been known to walk the halls and sit in the classes and show up at birthday parties or even the hospital when one of our little ones is sick. Our rooms are brightly decorated to reflect a warm and caring environment welcoming children of all ages. We want our kids to learn about the love of Jesus Christ. Throughout the year there are many activities including an intergenerational Bible School held each summer, movie nights, tea party, Fourth of July picnics, etc.
We have one of the premier four year old preschools in the city. Carpenter’s Kids is led by Sheri Webb and Lorie Holt. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the mornings from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and in the afternoons from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. We have a computer lab and there are frequent field trips for hands on learning. Carpenter’s Kids provides a great Christian environment for learning, we are shaping lives for the future and preparing children for school.
