FIRST CHURCH HAPKIDO
We are and official school in good standing, recognized and underwritten by the Fellowship of Christian Martial Artists, Charlotte, NC. Our patch represents a warrior kicking with the cross in the background making the artist always thankful for the "hope of glory" which Christ has promised. The Bible is underneath signifying that the Word of God or Truth that guides us. Truth shatters all deceit and evil. The color red surrounds the circle reminding us that we need to daily be covered by the blood of Christ in asking forgiveness of all sins. The cross and Bible are gold colored which symbolizes purity.
First Church Hapkido provides a way for Christians to practice safe martial arts recognized by the Christian community as not teaching eastern religions, but offering a Christian spiritual program. We begin each session with prayer and ask for spiritual guidance in opening our minds to new possibilities and our hearts to Gods love.
Since its beginning in 2000, we have graduated five students to the level of Black Belt. There is no fee for participation. However, if you wish to progress in rank, there are minimal testing fees.
We meet every Thursday 6:30-7:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall, everyone is welcome. We have members from other churches, and ages range from 8-68. Wear comfortable clothing,
Our Creed
My highest calling is to glorify God in everything I think, Say & Do.
I will only use my martial arts to defend myself and others while in danger.
I will also use my martial art as a means of spreading the gospel of Christ.
I will never put anything in my body or do anything to my body that may cause me harm.
I will always strive to do my best because I realize the enemy of excellence is mediocre.
