Prayer led the way. Our congregation stepped out in faith that God was moving us into a new way of thinking about doing ministry. We opened the south campus, The Celebration Center, in April, 1999. Our office and staff work there throughout the week. At The Celebration Center we have Sunday School, worship on Saturdays and Sundays, The Carpenter's Kids Preschool, various community groups, Sit N' Fit (low impact aerobics), Hapkido (Christian self-defense), and WOW (Wonderful on Wednesdays) which provides small groups for youth and adults with a full range of activities offered to our children. It is also home to our YEStoday bookstore which is open to the community at various times Thursday through Sunday. Meanwhile, our Downtown facility has one of the areas most beautiful sanctuaries (built in 1888) and has a great fellowship hall for church and community dinners. We have scouting ministries, adult Sunday School classes, Bible studies, and Chancel Choir that meet at the downtown facility.
Since 1997 we have grown from 136 average weekly attendance at worship service to over 750. There have been over 250 professions of faith during this time. These are more than numbers, as they represent lives being touched by God's love. In June of 2003 we opened the doors to our second phase at The Celebration Center creating more worship and classroom space. It also features a theater, youth and children ministry areas, a woodworking shop and prayer chapel.
We are excited to see what the future holds. When you are in Sedalia, we would love to have you come be with us at either or both locations!
